Our staff is selected not only for their educational background and work experience in the field of early childhood development, but also for their personal qualities such as warmth, empathy, and the ability to relate positively to others.

Our preschool teachers have at minimum an Associate’s Degree in a child-related field. At present, 99% of all staff have at least a Bachelor’s Degree with some holding their Master’s as well. Teachers are responsible for curriculum planning, instruction, guidance, and monitoring the progress of students.

All staff receive on-going training in the areas of child development and developmentally appropriate practices through conferences, outside agencies, and staff meetings.

PROGRAM DIRECTOR

I have been a part of the Hilltop Christian School family since 2011, when my daughter started preschool here.  I started as a parent volunteer, joined the board, and when my daughter graduated I stayed on as a staff member.  I love Hilltop!

I have always loved children and have taught in one form or another since I was 16 years old and teaching dance classes.  I have worked as an aide in a special needs classroom, been a reading tutor at the Travelers Aid Society (now The Road Home), and worked in various classrooms with children of all ages in San Diego, CA (my hometown) and Salt Lake City.

I have a Bachelor's of Science degree in Human Development and Family Studies from the University of Utah and spent many of my working years as a retail manager.

I love living in Utah and our family includes many pets. I love hiking, camping, reading, crochet, and anything geeky.

Feel free to stop into the office anytime!

I was born and raised in Illinois, and have now been in beautiful Utah for 25 years. My two boys began attending Hilltop in 2015 and went through 1st and 2nd grade. I loved Hilltop so much that I served on the Board of Directors for a few years and then began working as an aide in 2019. Currently you can find me working in the Hilltop office.

I have worked with children in many roles starting at a young age: babysitter, camp counselor, nanny, youth group leader, sports coach, Special Olympics, and beyond. I have a Bachelor’s Degree from Wheaton College (IL) in Business & Economics and a Minor in Christian Education. I was also on the Wheaton Women’s Soccer team.

It brings me joy spending time with my husband, two boys and our dogs. You can usually find us involved in sports from youth football and basketball games, in the stands at college and pro games, to cheering on our favorite teams on TV. We also enjoy the thrill of rollercoasters as often as we can. I love reading, puzzles, trips to the beach and always being outside.

Hi! My name is Lacey McCue. I was born and raised here in Sandy, Utah. I started working at Hilltop in December 2024, and I really enjoy my time here.

I have always known that I wanted to be a teacher. From making my younger sister play school with me as kids, to becoming a peer tutor in middle school, I knew teaching would play an important role in my life. I graduated from Westminster College in 2009 with a dual major in Elementary Education and Early Childhood Education, with a minor in Special Education. After graduating, I taught 4th grade, 3rd grade, and middle school special education. I also taught English online, which I enjoyed.

In my free time, I love reading and spending time with my husband, son and daughter. We enjoy going to Disneyland, camping, movie nights, and riding in our RZR together.
